Whispers in the Shadows: A Chilling Tale of Design Aspirations and Dormant Horrors

Whispers in the Shadows: A Chilling Tale of Design Aspirations and Dormant Horrors

Hello, I'm a cheerful and aspiring young woman with a passion for design. Determined to pursue my dream, I enrolled in a design course located far from my home. In order to focus on my studies, I opted to stay in the hostel, an experience that completely transformed my life.

On the first day at the hostel, I faced the challenges of initiation from the senior students, but eventually, we became friends. While the design training progressed smoothly, I started noticing unsettling signs in the hostel. Despite negative reviews and warnings about its proximity to the training center, I chose to stay there. A peculiar comment caught my attention, suggesting that the hostel might be haunted. Curiosity and a hint of fear lingered as I inquired about it from senior hostel mates, who confirmed the eerie presence and advised caution after midnight.

My first night in the hostel was marked by a restless mind filled with thoughts of strange occurrences. Although I couldn't sleep due to the unsettling tales, nothing unusual happened. Days passed, and I immersed myself in my design studies. However, unsettling rumors persisted, leading to a wave of juniors vacating the hostel, citing horror incidents and mysterious cries in the night.

Around the fifth day, after dismissing the rumors, I heard an eerie noise outside my door—a sound resembling someone crying. Investigating, I found no one and returned to bed. Suddenly, my bedsheet fell, creating a chilling atmosphere reminiscent of a horror movie. Terrified, I shared my experience with senior students, who acknowledged similar encounters but stayed due to financial constraints.

The fear escalated when, during a class on Christian marriage makeup, a girl from my class exhibited disturbing behavior, uttering unsettling phrases and displaying demonic-like features. A priest was called to perform a ritual, and the incident left everyone bewildered and skeptical.

I finally confided in my parents, and their visit to the hostel resulted in a bizarre encounter. They spoke with a friend of mine who, to their surprise, was with me at the time. The confusion surrounding the identity of the person my parents interacted with heightened the eerie atmosphere. Faced with the unknown, my parents decided I should leave the hostel immediately.

The unsettling stories circulating among the seniors hinted at a tragic incident involving a Christian girl, though the details remained unclear. Some suggested suicide, while others spoke of a heinous crime. Regardless, the experience left an indelible mark on me, reinforcing the belief that the supernatural may indeed exist.

Kumkum and the Divine Wrath

This is a true story experienced by one of my cousins — something beyond explanation, something divine. My cousin owns a building with around six houses rented out to different families. Some time ago, a couple moved into one of these houses. Over the course of six months, they became quite close to my cousin’s family. Eventually, the couple had a baby, and everyone was happy for them. However, a few months after the birth, the wife began acting strangely. She would speak in an unusual manner, and her behavior started scaring her husband. Worried, he called my cousin for help. When my cousin arrived, she was shocked by what she saw — the woman's eyes were wide open, almost unnaturally, and she was saying things like, “Come and apply kumkum to me.” She had already put some kumkum on her forehead herself. At that moment, they realized something divine had taken over her — it seemed like a god had entered her body. She turned to her husband and said, “You promised me something but did...

Haunted Bicycle Ride

In the dimly lit room, I gathered my friends around, eager to share a chilling tale passed down from my grandfather. Before I recount his bone-chilling encounter, allow me to paint a picture of my dear grandfather—a joyful and talented man, skilled in music, capable of playing the flute, tabla, piano, and more. He was a maestro in dance, mastering the art of both Kathak and Bharatanatyam. Yet, amidst all his passions, one thing held a peculiar grip on his heart—fish. He couldn't bear a day without this aquatic delicacy; it had to accompany every meal, or he'd refuse to eat anything else. This eerie tale harks back some forty years, to a time when the world was a vastly different place. My grandfather resided in a quaint little village known as Kumta. In those days, the road leading to his home was a haunting path. No streetlights dared to pierce the darkness, and dense forests loomed ominously on either side. But things have changed drastically since then, as you'll soon se...
